MCHS Grade 9 Open House & Parent Info Night
February 18, 2020 - To support Grade 9 students in their transition to high school, Parkland School Division high schools are preparing to host their annual Open House events. Ahead of welcoming incoming high school students into their hallways and classrooms, Memorial Composite High School will be presenting at area feeder schools. Grade 9 students from across the Tri-Area can expect a jam-packed informative session with high school counselors, covering all aspects of the registration process for the upcoming school year.
Once students know how to register, they and their parents or guardians are invited and encouraged to check out everything their new school will have to offer for the upcoming school year. If you're about to make the move from middle to high school, mark these can't-miss events on your calendar!
First-Time Parent Information Night
Date: Tuesday, March 3
Location: Memorial Composite High School
MCHS will be hosting an evening event which is meant for parents seeing their first child through high school. This evening will provide an opportunity for parents to become familiar with the school and to meet the school administration and counsellors. The registration process and how parents can help their child pick appropriate core classes will be discussed. Students are not to attend this evening; it is for parents only.
Grade 9 Open House
Date: Thursday, March 5
Location: Memorial Composite High School Large Gymnasium
After a brief presentation in the large gym introducing the evening's events, students and parents are invited to tour the entire school and visit both core and options classrooms. All labs and options will be in full operation, so participants will have a great chance to preview the unique aspects of each available course. Students will then be able to make informed decisions about their high school course selections. Bring your questions and your enthusiasm, and you'll leave much more confident about your transition into high school.
